so is the the max safest bore for an NA application? or is there material left for a safe rebore?

We are building a new sheetmetal intake right now and we have completed our cast 4500 single four manifold which we will be testing too. We're making new rocker stands and having some new intake rockers made. As soon as we are done in a couple weeks, we will be going back on the dyno. The valves are splayed inwards towards the plug. Kind of like in a V design. BBC heads are like that:

I'd love to see the final results on the motor, I don't think they are going to see 9k or even 9500 with the current setup. I would like to see how much RPM they can get out of the motor. I have a strange feeling they are going to find a limit at 8200-8500.
