Default headers headers and....

hi everyone. Im a new guy on the board. I just
bought my 2000 ws6. I put on the slp loudmouth
and would like to do headers. Oh boy i know here we all go again. Well for those of you who say use the search function I have oh believe me I have spent too many hours. Any way to the point I am lookingfor power on the street and for the track. Money is not too much of an issue. Macs are out simply because i know they must be worked on to perform. I'm not going to lower the car and I will be adding a lid and some bfg radials. My goal is to be in the mid 12 area. SLP, grot-or Flp- or wait until we see about the se Hooker any advice would be welcome. Oh time in sig was stock . I am not going to do the install and my performance shop is a pretty good one.

All of the longtubes make about the same power and since you are not doing the install you dont have to worry about which are easiest to install. I would just look around and find the cheapest set you can find and get those.

I bought the Grots because they were easy to install and I ended up only paying $800 for the headers and y-pipe installed.

damn man 800 is a great price i guess i should do some searchin. One shop told me the grotts were the way to go. I won't get them for a few months so i will also wait on the hooker headers I suppose. Damn decisions geez.

well I paid 775 shipped for the headers and had an exhaust shop modify my factory y-pipe to fit the headers for 30 bucks. The factory y-pipe doesnt start to be restrictive until you get past the 350 rwhp mark. (which I am at)

When I do my heads and cam I will be going to a larger y-pipe which the same shop is going to make for me for $100

Go with SLP's or FLP's or TTS, or try Hookers new LT's, I personally don't like the black Hookers, but the coated ones look really good...

I have been sweating the same ? for quite some time. I finally decided to go with the FLP's simply because the price difference was not that big $1,125.00 SLP Group Purchase (without ORP) vs. $1,300.00 for the FLP's with Cats and ORP's that are easily swapable by me (major consideration). I also decided to go with Long Tubes because if I am gonna spend the money, I want every ounce of extra power I can get. Just my thoughts.

I’m going with SLPs. If you’re not going to lower the car, then SLPs are nice because they really don’t have the banging and fitment issues that some of the other LTs have, but they do hang lower.

My friend Al with a ’00 M6 Z28 went from a 13.46 @105.10 to a 12.90 @110.72 with no other changes than adding SLP LTs (off-road). Plus they’re the only stainless steel LT that I know of...

I have the SLPs and love them. They are not hard to install, maybe for a 1st grader. I only have a couple bolt ons and im making 350hp and 360 TQ at the wheels and ~ 700 TQ the spray, if not more (bottle was mostly closed ) The finish is awesome. If you want a lowered car, dont get them. Plus they have a true 3" y pipe. Not a bottle neck like the FLPs.

But all the LTs are pretty much the same.

Thanks for the replys guys
RPM WS6- thanks i wanted to know just that

It looks as of now i will be between slp the new hookers,or flp dependening if they turn out to be worth it or the grots. Anyone have some dynos with the grots or slp or times with the headers and basic bolt ons let me know. It will come down to which one produces more power and performs better at the track.

Go with the FLP's. There are a handfull of people who have had "problems" with them, but they are pretty minor problems. Vibrations and y pipe touching the floor board are the 2 main ones, and a $5 piece of heater hose can fix that in 10 mins. FLP has awesome customer service and the headers makes great power. You wont be sorry if you go with the FLP's, especially if your car is lowered because they have the best ground clearance of the long tubes right now. They fit up perfect and the clamps seal great, also have the easiest install of all of the headers, even easier than some shorties. You have done a search so you know which headers have the least problems, thats piece of mind when you order the FLP's
