From what I have read, alot of these so called "ported" TBs don't include a larger throttle valve. Thats not what I would call a ported TB. It may help airflow slightly by contouring / smoothing the inlet of the TB, but, unless a larger valve is installed, it really isnt "ported", is it...

thats what I have thought as well. Im not sure how large the opening is on our intakes though, so how much larger of a blade could be put in a TB?

Magnus and PSJ, flow at 20.5" is what carbs are flowed at, so its good for comparisons, but 660 cfm @ 20.5 doesnt sound right (too low) what im thinking is that this is because they are flowing at 79% throttle angle, is that stock throttle angle WOT? Has any body removed throttle stop and checked gains at the track at least?

John the stock TB flows 733 cfm on a 4-barrel carb rating of 1 % of mercury (20.3 inches of water) test depression.

1) How many cfms are our stock throttle bodies?

2) Also, when we do a light port/polish, what do the cfms increase to?

Removing the stop would be counter-productive. However, you can grind the stop down if necessary to achieve a 90 degree WOT position, as many of us have done.

GWJ, does 90 degrees show any hp gains or ET? Does it cause any intake manifold distribution problems? Any bodys help with these questions would be much appreciated.

90 degrees is the angle you want your TB blade for maixum flow, going any less or too much would result in less flow. BTW on a stock TB the blade may be 75mm but just before it there is a ridege that is smaller, im sure its worth some CFM wi
thout upgrading the blade.
