Default LS6 springs w/ stock cam to 6600??

I am planning to rev to 6600 w/ the stock motor/cam, I am going to upgrade springs and pushrods, I was planning 915's, but I was curious if LS6 (the blue ones) would work or if they'd cause me to loose power, I need to go to 6600 to allow me to cross in 4th w/ the 430s in the 12bolt..what do yall think?
thanks

i think some LS6 cam guys have gone to 6600 rpm, but if you can get 915's cheap id do that.

I have spun the blue 02 LS6 springs to 7,000 rpm without any visible float on the dyno with a 218 cam....yea, I am a brave soul, but I had to know for my own notes if they would hold that size cam and still turn 400RWH+. Be carefull.

You're not actually going to buy a 12-bolt are ya Peter? You were talking about one when you had your red T/A.

Trevor I already have a strange 12bolt w/ 430s, 33 splines, and the good posi sitting at FAStech waiting for install, my twin disc will be goin in as well, 11s w/ boltons are in the near future...

I just wanted to see if the springs would hold, I may be able to obtain a set and save the money, they just need to be good to 6600 w/ the stock cam and not cause me any power loss..

Wow, it sounds like you're ready for some nice 11-second passes. You need to hurry and get it installed so we can take a trip to RCR w/ the SOM cars. We won't have to worry about getting kicked out either w/ no cage.

It won't be just boltons if you change the springs.

Peter - You don't have school on Saturdays, so just plan on it. I'm thinking either the 19th or 26th of this month. I'd like to have the new converter in by then, but it'll take a miracle for that to happen.

I looked again and you did say you are going to run a STOCK cam car to 6,600 RPMs?

Why? That's way beyond the power range of the stock cam. Maybe i missed something.

I didnt read that far--my error.

Anyway, stock cam doesn't make power past 5800. That's too much gear for a stock cam'd car. whatever turns your crank i guess.

I don't think 4:30s are too much for a stock cammed car. Why do you think that? On a set of nittos, 4:30s might be pushing it. However, on a set of slicks that grow quite a bit on the top end, 4:30s are nearly perfect.

Stock elimanator racers gear for max rpm and usually this means ET reduction, but at the cost of mph loss. ET wins races and sets records.
