Default Has anyone used the Comp Cam Hydraulic R lifters?

My lifters need to be replaced and it was either $200 for the Comp Cam lifters or $500+ for the GM factory original. I went with the Comp Cam, has anyone else? Thanks.

I have discovered a guy that can make any size lifter (including that for the LS1) out of a special material that is lighter than aluminum and stronger than steel. These lifters show a 66% weight savings over the stock lifters and can be made to pass the correct amount of oil into the heads (our roller rockers don't require as much lubrication as conventional rockers do). Would this be of an interest to anyone? Also, the guy can make retainers (lighter and stronger than titanium), rockers, and pushrods (custom length, lighter and stronger than hardened rods). Pretty cool stuff.

I've been told by the shop that works on my car (FAStech) that the R lifters are noisy but other than that are great. He said that he's had to go back and replace the R lifters for people because they couldn't stand the racket. I'm going with another set of stockers because Sean thinks they'll be fine for my setup and won't be loud...my car's a daily driver <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
