4.10 rear gear

4.10 rear gear
I have a 2001 SS with M6. Just a few minor mods done like cat back exhaust, Direct Flow lid, Holley Power Shot filter and fixing to do FRA. Should I go with 3.73 or 4.10 rear gears. I'm thinking 4.10. Any advise on this?
Thanks,
Frank

Re: 4.10 rear gear
I have 4.10's in my '99 M6 and I would suggest that you improve traction with tires and LCA's before you do the gears. Otherwise, WOT in 1st. gear is pretty much worthless because you'll just be spinning the stock tires. Lots of fun though!

John is right, if you are on a street tire, it will not help... <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
Other than that as soon as I got on a Nitto, 4.10's are awesome <img src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" border="0" alt="[judgement]" />

Re: 4.10 rear gear
Nitto 555R is their Drag Radial.
I thought I needed more suspension mods or a relocated battery to help me get hooked up. All I really needed was a good sticky set of tires. I called BF Goodrich and they stongly recommended that I not drive their Drag Radials on the street; although alot of guys do! After having 1st. and 2nd. gear spinning on stock tires, the Nittos made the car fun to drive again! I think most of the guys on this board inflate them to approx. 24-28 psi cold.
Have fun,
John
