On a bolt-on only car with a TNT dry kit. Are they worth it or would the money be better spent on another upgrade?? How much horsepower does the SLP's give you over the MAC's?? Just have the normal bolt on's... trying to decide if I want new headers or a performance clutch...
Thanks

FWIW:
Based on the dyno graph I saw of the same car that had Mac's then SLP's it really depends on what you want. The car was a bolt car at the time with the basics. The MAC's had the primary welds cleaned up, the flowmaster collector and the other mod's for MAC's.
The SLP's were like 10 rwtq better than the MAC's in the mid-range 2500rpm to 4500rmp.
The MAC's were like 10 rwhp better than the SLP's above 5000rpm.
I think the owner of the car said he gained 1/10th or so with his convertible at the track w/SLP's
On the street I think the torque (SLP's) would be more fun but if you launch at the track above 4000 or 4500 rpm's with an A4 the Mac's might be more fun.
I'd keep MAC's you have for what the SLP's cost and do a cam or something like that for about the same cost. I think you'd get a better gain for the money.

Thanks Blackbird...
Appreciate the input. I'd love to do a cam swap right now, but the warranty is limiting some of my choices! The dealer I know doesnt mind headers...but I think a camshaft may be pushing it a little <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> I may look into the SLP's a little more.... have to check the ground clearance on my '01 hawk though!! Seems like I've heard people talk about that with the full length headers. Thanks again for the input.

The SLP LT are well worth the cost. Significant time different from 2000 to 2001 for myself. Minor bolt ons. Your NOS would make it even more so.
So much as the clearance 'problem', there isn't one as long as you don't slam the car. The SLP's will lower than norm, but just becarful of speed bumps.
Good luck
