Default Internal Engine Question(s)

Can the internals of a ls1 handle 500 horse power? I thought I read somewhere that the rings around the pistons begin to wear down. So if I plan to do all bolt on's (head, cam, etc) and put on the procharger should I worry about the internals at all.????

Thanks

If you were doing one or the other, you might be ok. Since you've mentioned heads, cam and FI all in the same build, you'd be better off starting with a strong forged piston and aftermarket rods. Stock crank should be ok.
