how much would a "freshening" cost?

how much would a "freshening" cost? Just got done reading Raughammer's post. I was wondering how much it would run me just to do new rings, bearings, maybe a clean up on the cylinders and polish the crank. Still would use a stock rotating assembly.

Re: how much would a "freshening" cost? It's such a big job pulling the motor out, and pulling it apart, that I wouldn't get into the bottom end unless I needed to actually do a repair or modification to make it stronger.
Parts-wise, you're not looking at a lot of dough, but labor-wise, you are, and it all depends on who does the work and how much they charge.

I spent about a thousand in parts alone..
all new rings, all new bearings.. gaskets.. bolts..
and i work at rachargers and i rarely pay retail.
excluding the rod bearings i spent about 600-700 in rings and the rest of the gm bearings.
Add new timing chain..
Dont even get my started on labor..
I shoulda bought a damn are 360
