15k miles... springs need replacing

15k miles... springs need replacing ok so ive reached the point that i need to replace my springs that i did with my cam swap (According to you guys)...
when i install the springs do i have to strip down the whole engine again so i know when each cylinder is at top dead center or is their a way to do it without removing the radiator/timing chain cover/water pump etc etc...

There are two ways, the TDC method which you can do by just spinning the motor over by hand and putting a feeler in the plug hole on each cylinder and feeling for the piston to reach TDC. Or, if you have an air compressor, you can buy the spark plug attachment for it and use the compressor to keep the valves closed. Either of those ways, you don't have to remove anything from the engine other than the valve covers to get to the springs and the spark plugs.

im running manley springs (got them from futral)... but i was told by some people on here that they NEED to be changed out at 15k miles... if this isnt true it will save me a huge pain in the ***
i would just take a couple off and have them pressure checked,maybe both springs from one cylinder.15k is just a ballpark figure,yours could possibly last much longer than that or sometimes less.
I have 39,000 miles on a set of PRC platinum dual springs on a 233\233 .598\.598 112 cam no problems..the car is a dailey driver .. 15,000 miles seems a little premature to me..you do not need to beleive everything that you read on the internet..all that is needed to post is the ability to type...be advised that knowledge is not a requirment to post ... choose what you take to heart with caution..if I were you I would do a little more research before changing springs ...

Definately check manley or rev springs very early. You can find TDC by feeling through the cylinder 1 spark plug hole with a drinking straw or a pencil or something. Then put a dab of whiteout on the crank pulley as reference for rotating the crank each 90* increment.
If those Manley springs are of a concern at this stage of the game I'd pull them and replace with something a lot more durable..but I drive my car 30+K miles per year..I am going to test these PRCs when they come off and see what numbers they still have left in them.
