Default Does your 941 springs have another little spring inside??

Just wondering?? Have any of you guys broke a 918 spring?? what Rpm are those good for?? I have the TR 224 cam. I Have 941s and I'm hella worried about them since everyone has been breaking them. What are the signs that you broke one?? how long can you drive with one broken before anything else happans?? Have you guys broken one on the road and was able to drive it home?? THanks

The little inner spring is a damper. This comes with all the 941s.

You should be fine with the 941s with the Thunder 224 cam. We have quite a few local guys running these exact springs with no issues. However, they should be replaced about once per year. When you do replace them, I would look into the Comp 918s and with the Comp 772 Titanium retainers. This is a VERY light spring/retainer setup and, so far, have been doing very well with that cam. Being a lighter setup, this should extend the valvetrain life and be less susceptible to valvefloat.

If you do break a valvespring, it will be very noticeable. The car will run like crap and you will get a flashing SES light.

I just had a 941 let go on my T1 set-up. I went with 918s and titanium retainers....
