Most cams I install tend to be a little louder on the valvetrain with 918s than stock. There is nothing really you can do about it, unless you want to start insulating valve covers?

I have a pretty mild/slow ramp cam and it was very quiet with SLP springs on my stock heads. With the 918s on these heads at 130lbs of seat pressure it is 200% louder. It is annoyingly loud now, granted I have a stock z06 exhaust and cats plus there is not much insulation anywhere on a C5 so you can hear everything through the firewall..
I had the SLP springs at 110lbs on the seat so I may take the shims out of these 918s and see what happens, this cam doesnt need much spring but the noise is my only regret doing heads/cam..

Much of the valve train noise seems to be from the stiff springs that are required for fast ramp rates. If you get a milder cam (ex: Z06 cam or HotCam) that you can use the Z06 springs with, you proubly won't get a lot of noise.
I have a TR224 112LSA and had the seats cut for Comp 987 Duel Springs w/ titanium retainers and WOW!!!!! talk about sewing machine....I have an entire textile factory under my hood <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> ...but...that valve train could probubly take 9000RPM
