Default '00 Camaro motor in '99 Trans Am?????????????????

A freind of mine had a beautiful 2000 Z28 with an A4 and he recently got ran off the road going 140+ (yeah stupidity is deadly) but thankfully lived and only suffered a fractured vertibre(yeah not very lucky but he is alive) and I have talked to him and I am hoping I can get the motor and tranny from the car(it hit a clay embankment from the back) and rebuild the motor and add some goodies and also have the tranny for a spare. Is there anything that I should think about being that his car is a 2000 Camaro and My car is a 99 Trans Am. Also are there any differences in the motors???

If you guys can give me any info or just anything to help out I'de appreciate it. Thanks!

The engines are identical. You won't have any problems.

You will have no problems, plus you will have an extra engine laying around if you blow yours up racing.
