Shiney silver metal flakes on oil plug tip?
Ok yesterday I did an oil change and my oil plug tip was coated in really fine silver metal flakes. I've got about 23k on the motor and have had just about nothing on the magnet till yesterday! I'm horrible at judging just how much there was, but it was less than 1/4 teaspoon.
I'm going to be getting the oil checked, but also looking for ideas on what it is?
My worry and it has been backed up by a couple others is bearings.

Not really, just little tiny flakes.

A small amount of fine metal shavings is not exactly a cause for alarm. I typically have a tiny bit everytime I change my oil too.
You usually only have to worry when you've got solid bits of metal, identifiable parts (bearings, etc)...stuff like that.

I see you live in Colorado , correct??
If its been real cold this could explain
why you have some metal.
The oil in your car gets pretty thick
when its cold out so you need to warm up
before you do any kind of driving .
Use 5w30 when its cold out ,if you arent now
plus it is the factory recommended oil weight.
NO 20w50 when its cold !!!, should use it when hot
either ,dont need it.
But if you are using the correct oil ,just let it warm up before you bring the revs up.
