Default 40rwhp improvement?

Hey guys. Do you think I could squeeze 40rwhp out of a set of Z06 heads w/ my current mods?

Daily drivability, price, power are how I'm placing my criteria. I know I'll always be leaving something on the table, but I love an OE feel.

Any input would be appreciated.

AFR 205's are one of the best heads out there, and they are advertising a 40 hp gain. Don't expect a realistic 40 hp from LS6 heads, ported or not.

Not 40rwhp, but maybe ~20rwhp once it's tuned. I'd expect more if you had a set of long tubes, no cats, a better flowing catback, ported throttle body and an UD pulley. In other words, full bolt-ons and I'd expect a higher gain.

A good set of ported LS6 heads and a proper tune might get you 30 or 35, but 40 is really stretching it. Might happen if your car as detuned for the baseline.

Reality check cashed.

Thanks guys. I was just hoping against hope 20 more hp wouldn't cost me so much. How come it gets more expensive the further we go?

Take me from 373rwhp to 400rwhp? So... **counting fingers** 27hp workable? I think my head'll explode if I dyno it and come in @ 399.4rwhp!!

going to 243's from 853's has got to be a 15-20rwhp gain, I don't see how a good port and valve job isn't worth another 20.

The TFS heads might yield something near 40. It is gonna take a bad *** set to make near that though.

get the ported LS6 heads from TSP their pretty cheap anyways. I have seen some great results from those heads and their a 243 casting.
