I just finished up installing the Thunder Racing 224 114lsa cam in the TA tonight. Initial impressions are WOW!! LOL The cam really woke the car up. I didn't realize how slow the car really was with bolt ons. Even with the cam, low end torque is very strong. The cam really starts to plant you in the back of the seat around hard 4k and doesn't let off until the 6600 limiter.
I installed the Comp 918 valvesprings, Comp 772 Titanium retainers, Comp hardened pushrods (stock length; 7.400"). Everything seems to be doing very well so far.
The install wasn't as bad as I had expected. Everything went real smooth. Valvesprings were a PITA at first, but having the right tools does make the job a WHOLE lot easier. I used the KD3271 valvespring compressor with the removeable handle (can fit a 5/8" socket on it) for the back 2 springs on the passenger side. The springs were the toughest part. Next time it is going to go much easier.
Big thanks to Geoff for letting me use the shop and for the weekend and to the guys who helped me on their way in and out of Thunder. (Eric, Justin, Paul, Chris, and the little guy we call TIM, etc.)
Sounds clips coming tomorrow (through the Hooker exhaust and with the cutout open). I'll try to dyno after school one day this week. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Who makes the KD3271 valvespring compressor and where can you get one? And why will it be much easier next time? Thanks

Mikes car rode out this morning... With just a cam in the car I was surprised.. I expected to leave him easily even with my issues, but that TR224 cam was staying in my mirrors.. We will get a better run when you get the headers and I get my tuning issues and my clutch fixed.. Cant let you feel too confident..
Jason,

LOL! No doubt. I guess that bolt-on record hunt didn't last very long did it Jason? You had one of the baddest 346ci solid roller setups and you let it go. I see the cycle starting over again....

Boy, do I feel left out. "Hey Tim, hurry up and grab this spring compressor and loosen it up while I hold it".
Now I see how your gonna be. Jack and plate rental just increased.
FYI, I think Jason actually went to the track today.

Real funny Chris and Tony. The biggest reason I got rid of the old setup was because I had to put a roll cage in to race and I wasn't doing that with my daily driver. I probably should have considered that before we started on the build up, but I never really thought of it. A majority of the tracks around here let you go to 11.50 before a they require a cage. So, I figured with the cam, I would be right around that. So, there is a method to my madness. LOL Yep, it was a bad *** 346ci setup... that's what I keep telling me myself. Makes me feel alot better.
I used the KD3271 valvespring compressor for the back two springs on the passenger side. For the other 14, I used the KD2078. You can purchase both of them here: http://www.mytoolstore.com/kd/kdengi13.html#3271
I am planning on shifting the car right at 6500, with a revlimiter at 6700-6800. I'll have a better idea after I dyno. This is where I shifted my old B1 cam with stock heads and had excellent results.
Tim, I edited my post. I did appreciate your help. LOL So, those 8 new TR6 plugs wasn't enough payment?
No track for me today. I totally forgot it was my mom's birthday, so I had stuff going on with that. Plus, I have a ton of homework due tomorrow that I need to get done. I'll try and make it to the track ASAP.
Specs on the Thunder Racing 224 cam: 224/224 .561/.561 114. More info can be found here:
