Default I have a rattle sounds like the clutch

Ok I have a 98 SS and when you push in the clutch it and put it in gear it rattles. But it does not jump or any thing like when most of you clutches are going out. when you sit in gear and clutch pushed in it rattles when not in gear it does not. Could it be the bearings in the main shaft in the trans.

It doesn't rattle when in nuetral with the clutch pedal depressed, but it does rattle when in gear with the clutch pedal depressed?

Best case scenario, it's a bad pilot bearing. If it were the bearings in the transmission, wouldn't it be more likely to make noise when in neutral w/o the clutch pedal depressed?
