Default Do I need a maft or not? please help

Is it worth to buy a maft to adjust your lterms if you are running lean at cruise? At wot my O2'S are between .87-.90. My O2 seem good, but at part throttle seeing a little KR, probally due to the lean Ltrims. So would I see a gain in just adusting the base settings?
Thanks
Marco

I don’t know what I would do with out my maft, the only reason I got was because of a SES (condition lean) come to find out I might have not even needed the maft… I had a vacuum leak. <img src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" /> fixed the leak and my ltrims where still running a little lean 10% to 12% at idle…. After adjusting the base and getting the ltrims close to 0 I could tell a difference in town/highway. I have not been to the track with the maft, so I could not say any differences but I don’t think it would matter with your car because your o2’s are in the right rang at WOT. But maybe with summer coming you might have to lean it out a little. I had a problem with KR to, 3200 all the way up. I maxed the maft base out and still had kr…. Ended up being the IAT timing tricker. With the IAT timing tricker installed I could only get about 2% to 4%. If I reved the motor the trims would jump to 20%+….. removed it and they hardly move now.

Hawk - I don't know why your having KR @ part throttle,my guess would be false knock of some kind.But let me clear up some misconceptions here;
#1 Just because your Ltrms are on the plus side it DOESN'T mean your running lean.It does mean the PCM is adding fuel to PREVENT you from running lean .Our cars will always be @ 14.7:1 at cruise.If somehow you force it to be richer or leaner than this it will throw a code.
#2 WOT Ltrims mean nothing,they're locked @ WOT.You then watch O2's.Hawk, yours are fine
#3 From my experience the timing tricker will not affect Ltrims,it will affect timing only.

So to answer your question ,no you don't need a MAFT
