Default L92 Intake and Head on LS2 block, changed to HOW TO

I am building a new 402 LS2 shortblock, and seriously considering the use of the stock L92 head and intake on engine.

I am figuring under $1400 for the Head/Intake combo which seems by all reviews pretty close to an aftermarket Intake/head combo and at least $1K cheaper.

Anyone here in the process of the same? Will need support and note comparisons along the way.

Other than power curve and HP arguments, are there any downsides to using this combo for a road race engine?

Jolly

I've actually read alot of the sticky. The majority of the discussion focuses on the quality, specs, theory, and merit of the L92/L76. Quite a bit of conjecture and discussion on the qualitative aspects of the swap (my buddy Sam did this, and...).

I want to collect and filter the info into a practical how to/FAQ- for those who have already decided to go that route. Those who are in process of doing this please share your experience.

The specifics:
Project reasons to really not undertake this (ie this will require mucho facrication and configuration change)? Run away, back out nows.

Head fitment issues on the LS2 bored block- minimal and maximal bore sizes? Other changes needed to the block?

What type/size of head gasket to use?

Will the usual LS head fasteners work?

Is the L92 intake a must, or will the LS6 or Fast 90 fit on the heads?

What alternative spring sets, valves train setup are avalable out there? What rockers, lifters besides stock?
Can you buid the heads from bare with aftermarket parts? Is it worthwhile to buy the heads from GM assembled?

Thanks.
