Default Stupid question but need a definative answer

Do all the LS1's in F-bodies REQUIRE synthetic oil in their engines. I have some people telling me that F-Body LS1's recommend dino oil I know my two brothers, one with a '00 WS6 and the other with a '00 SS both came factory with synthetic oil, M1 and Castrol syntec respectively . Where are they getting this info that F-Body LS1's are recommend for dino oil? I am 90% sure they all come with synthetic don't they? Thanks.

It's been my understanding that, unlike the Corvettes, the LS1 F-bodys did not/do not come with synthetic except for the optional SLP Syntec package. And they 'require' neither dino nor synthetic. I use Mobil 1.

NONE of the LS1 motors "require" synthetic oil. Including your Corvette.

Castrol GTX 10W-30 here.

I spun a rod bearing on Mobil-1 at 20K miles, so I guess its not all that.

Royal Purple here, but I agree with Tony.. You can run non synthetic and be fine.
