Question i need some help

i have received a 2001 transam its has long tube headers with a Y pipe but the rear 2 O2 sensor are missind causing the check engine light to come on. i know if i tap the y pipe and install the o2 back in. it still will light up the check engine light because no cats correct and to much flow. how do i fix this? one more this the car has a K&N intake system and the exchaust will a programmer help? sorry to sound stupid but i sold my 500hp Rx7 and went back to american cars just something about V8s that sound so good. i bought the car this way, and the kid said it didn't need a programmer its all hype, kinda hard for me to beleave. what do u guys think? thanks

your headers should have a bung for the front sensors and you will need a pair of simulators for the rear. or you could have a tuner delete them.

when he says tuner he means either buy something like efilive or Hptuners or have a shop who tunes ls1's do it for you.

One of the programmers out there might delete rear 02s but I am not familliar as they are pretty much worthless. For the same price you can buy a tuning suite like hptuners or efilive that does about ten times more things.

Sims are an easy way to go if you dont know anyone with the proper software. Sounds like you have an ory. As stated above you have front o2 sensors and rear sensors. You need the fronts and they should be ok. They'll have an extension on the harness. The rear's either get deleted or get the simms for them. Then just have the code cleared and you should be good to go.

payments sent, thanks guys this is a great forum, when i had my rx7 and i was on the forum for 7s, you ask a question and you had to answer 3-4 questions before you would get an answer about what your asking about. i was going to sell this car until i drove it yesterday and holy **** was i amazed, now i know why everyone loves LS1's. are there any more mods i can do before i have to go in the motor? how much more can i sqeeze out of this motor hp rating with just bolts on and how fast are these cars in the 1/4 mile with bolt ons? Thanks

Oh man.... Brother... the sky is the limit with these cars.

If you dont already have a lid I would get one of those... maybe an UD pulley.... we can all go on forever with the types of bolt-ons before you even begin to delve into the engine. Head over to the Exernal Engine forum for all the "bolt-on" mod info you would ever need. The Search button is great to pinpoint specific info.

Hit up the sponsors to the right>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

My personal favorites are Texas Speed and Performance, Thunder Racing, Speedinc, and Greenlight Motorsports, however, ALL the sponsors are fantstic people to do business with.
