Massive oil ussage
Just did a cam and header change on my 2000 SS with only 13000 miles on it and it used(not leaked) 2 quarts of oil. Wife drove it out of town and the light came on it was 2 quarts low. Only 200 mile trip. It has macs without cats and a comp. cam. Anyone else had this happen?

What kind of oil are you using.I ask because my friend with heads and cam used valvoline synthetic blend and was a quart short and got rod knock. This has never happened to me.Do you have oil leaks anywhere?I am sure others will come to help you out.
I found that Valvoline works a little better but i run Royal Purple and love it. I consume less oil now and seems the oil is alot cleaner and last longer also. Try Royal Purple,Amsoil or Valvoline Synthetic. They all work 10 times better than Mobil 1. Also when you add a cam and stronger vavletrain you will use a little more oil than before.
My real concern for you is that you are burning the oil way too fast, regardless of brand and weight. Do you have significant leak-down on a compression test? Any gasket problems? Any excess detonation that could indicate oil is getting in your combustion chambers?

Sounds like the valves aren't closing completely and oil is pouring into the cylinders or something serious! I wouldn't let it continue like that!

I add 1/2 - 1 quart every 5-7K miles on the WS6.
I add 1 - 1 1/2 quarts on the Firehawk every 5-6K miles. We both like to drive fast . . . I just drive a little faster
