He has a '93 'Vette with LT1. Sound got worse the next day and then he parked it. Shop said it sounded like bottom end, but we all now those are rock solid. I'm guessing bent pushrod or broken spring. What do you guys think?

Ticking could be anything upper end LT1. Ticking is rarely bottom end, that normally sounds more like a grumble or rocks being crushed. Broken spring, bent push rod, loose rocker, hell it's a 93 LT1....could be anything it's a 14 year old motor.
