Almost ready to start up after a rebuild Hey all,
After a few hours of work tonight, I expect to be ready to start the car after a complete rebuild. I'm really anxious about it, but I don't have my new pushrods yet (the heads have been milled). I've ordered 7.325" PRs, but I still have a set of 7.400" PRs in the garage. Would it be detrimental to put them in and start the car just to see if it runs? I wouldn't rev it up or even drive it. I just want to see if I can get it started.

if the pushrods are too long the valves will stay open and the car wont start at all. It will crank but it wont sound like a normal crank when your car wants to start, it sounds like a sewing machine. had that happened to me but i would just wait till you get the new ps.. did you do ps length chckr?

I used a length checker. It was loose at 7.250" and not loose at 7.300". At the recommendation of Shane at TR, who was very nice and helpful, I went with 7.325" PRs.
