Default intermediate pipe on Z28 and SS

I need to know ifthe size of the intermediate pipe on a 2000 Z28 is the same size or smaller as the one on an SS. I have already replaced my z28 setup from the muffler back but I want to know if changing it from the cats to the muffler will increase performance.

Unless the SS the optional "Y2Y" option package, which comes with the SLP Dual-Dual 3" catback, it has the same size midpipe as a standard Z28.
