Default My next project..... give me until September 02' for the release.

My current car is an 01' M6 T/A, with the simple bolt-ons, tire, FM5's and a bottle. Im getting rid of this car soon enough and i want to start another LS1 project car. This time im leaning towards a 98-00 SS, with all the mods.

I want to do another M6, and build the tranny to hold 700rwhp. I plan on going with a McCleod adjustable master, Star Stage 3, and possible a different pressure plate if thats possible, because from what i hear, Star's isnt the best. I would like to go with a carbon-fiber driveshaft and a 9'inch rearend with 4.11's.

I want to go all out with LG suspension products, everything from LCA's, to a different "A" arm, and "K" member. Im trying to work out a deal with Baer for some 14'inch brakes, slotted, cross-drilled, and zinc washed. I want the Alcon pro-kit, but thats $6000, so i think ill settle for the GTP+ kit for right around $1200. Ill be taking out a fat loan for the rims of course which i want to have 18'inch HRE 545's all the way around.

I really want to keep the stock block, and buy Lunati's 382 stroker kit for it, but im caught between that, or an all bore motor. Heads, cam, TTS LT's, lid, GMS Maf, MAF-T, and a Bassani cat-back for most of the motor work. On top of all this, i really would like to throw on a Vortech. I would be really happy with a low 11 second car, because this will still be my everyday driver.

I know this is going to cost me a fortune, but im willing to do it, and devote all my time and effort into this thing.

What should my compression be at though for this motor, in order to run a blower. I know i cant have it being 11.1, so where should i plan on having it at ?? Also, keep in mind that i only want to run 100 octane in the damn thing, and definately no leaded gas, so will the compression effect this at all ??

Where else might you guys see or find some problems with the set-up i want ??

Thanks for your replies guy... this isnt either. Check out me and the rest of my boys at www.lvfbody.com

What's wrong with using your 01 T/A? Seems like a very nice car and it is obviously newer than a 98-00. I personally would just build up that car. As for your 700rwhp, if you can indeed make that much power, your car should be a he!! of a lot faster than 11's assuming you can hook at the track and drive that thing! Good luck with your next project.

First of all, you do not need a 382ci motor AND a blower to run low 11s. See my signature for an example.

But, if you must have 382ci AND a Vortech, go with the Lunati stroker kit and some custom pistons. It will be more difficult to build a lower compression motor if you go all-bore. Build a 9:1 or 9.5:1 compression ratio 382ci stroker and up the boost. Doubt you will hit your 700 rwhp unless you go with a custom T-trim with an Aftercooler. Might be easier to hit your 700 rwhp goals with nitrous instead of boost.

Star Stage 3 will never hold that much power. I wouldn't recommend that clutch for anything over 400 rwhp from what I've seen. You will definitely need a Mcleod dual-disk to hold that much power.

Good call on the HRE's and suspension mods though.

I would keep what I had b/c its just plain gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What size are those wheels????? They look great on my car!! (our cars are identical) only mine is a 99 and a a4. If you get time could you email me some pics??? (Joshua99@ls1com.every1.net) I think you should just keep the 01 b/c its going to find a 98 or 99 that is in good shape or hasnt been raced to hell and back.

Mike.. I have no problems with driving, and i would house a separate set of rims for the track and for the street races (probaly some 16'inch pro-star XP's with a set of 26x10.5-16 streets). The reason i want to go with a 98-01 is because my payments suck right now ($500 a month, plus i want to just flat out start another project from scratch.

Tony... I know i dont need a 382 and a blower to run low 11's, but i want that set-up just because it would be bad-***. To be honest, i was 98% sure that i was going to go with the Lunati kit, but i want some input from others first. What type of pistons though.... Lunati domed or flat tops, help me out here please ??
My friend was running 400+ rwhp with MMS Agg 475 package. He had the Star 3 in his car and only got 8 passes outta it before it took a shyt, and he went to an A4. The clutch is the only problem that worries me because i dont want to drive an auto.
Oh ya.. 700hp was a typo, i meant 600 (not that its that much of a difference) And, im strongly thinking of driving to Texas just to have MTI do the motor work.

Josh... Thanks for the compliments, ill send you some pics of the car. As for finding what i want... i was talking with a guy in wyoming that has a 00' formula ws6 m6 for sale. The car is red (go figure, all my cars have been red), and only has 1600 miles on it. I know i said i wanted to do a SS, but that could just very well be the next one.
