4.125" bore * 4" stroke = a nice little tire roasting 427ci MONSTER <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[Burnout]" /> <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

I don't know about the block issue.

I think the C5R block needs to be bored out.

User "Ripped427" aka Dennis in MN has a C5R block in his C5.

displacement = bore^2 * stroke * .7854 * #cylinders

so in the case of of C5-R block which comes with 4.125 bore and using a 4 inch stroke you get:

4.125^2 * 4.00 * .7854 * 8 = 427.6503ci

Default New LS1/LS6 block vs old LS1 block and resleeving

I have a question relating to a previous thread on here about the 422 package. It was mentioned that the LS6 block did not make as nice a donor block to be re-sleeved. I understand the aluminum alloy is slightly revised in the LS6 block and the resulting change to one LS1/LS6 block in late 2001, but I want to understand if this truely effects the re-sleeving of a new LS1/LS6 block.

Also, if you go with the C5R block, bore 4.125", and the 4.000" stroke crank, what displacement do you get? Is the C5R block ready to accept the rotating assembly, or do the cylinders require additional machining(such as a hone) as delivered?

Todd
