Default Hooker LT's are in! Open headers sound goooood!

Just got done installing my Hooker LT's, it took me overall about 10 hours including cleaning up the welds in the primaries. It would not take everyone this long but I had the whole weekend free so I took my time. I got them Jet Hot coated, they look nice in there. The are so light compared to the stock manifolds, just the stock cat alone weighed more than the whole Hooker header! THEN I started it, WOW I wish I could drive it around like this, it sounds BAD ***. I am having my Y pipe made Tuesday, I am going 3" mandrel bent with a flowmaster collector and no cats. I will let you all know how it feels when I get the y pipe done.

I have a few questions though

1. My AIR tubes didn't fit so since I have an 01 and they are designed for a 98-99. I cut the tube in the middle and used some heavy duty heater type hose from Discount Auto to extend cut off peice to the AIR adapter on the header itself. My question is how hot does the AIR tubes get? Will that hose burn? It only carries fresh air into the header so no exhaust will enter the tube correct?

2. Is it bad for the car to drive it with open headers? Will I burn up any exhaust valves or anything?

I am beat so I am going to head of to sleep now, I can't wait till Tuesday!

1. I think you'll be OK like that.

2. There was a thread yesterday about this. It's not really a yes or no question but I don't think burnt exhaust valves should be your worry.
