I am getting the dual exhaust stuff cheap and it's not an issue.

We've figured out the two major issues with the car and are addressing them thru tuning.

Shawn, I was strongly contemplating trying an 80mm TB and a ported Holley intake. But I was talking to Nick @ ARE and I'll wait for his results. I have another stock TB I had bored out to 78 two years ago that I can get rebored to 80mm.

I keep putting more air in my stock motor and
getting more power (especially torque).
Your cubes and better flowing heads can greater
benefit from more air.I want to see you rip
some major *** at the track this year!
I can understand why you want to wait for Holley
results, but I'd rather test it myself.
I don't see how it can miss if it's port-able.
Air is good, let it breathe!
Holley would be stupid not to GIVE you an intake.
Registered members and hits per day....
It's a no-brainer.

There are 3-4 shops that will be doing various things to the Holley intake and the 1-3 other custom intakes that out there.

I think that a ported matched 80mm TB is a no brainer for a superstroker.

PSJ, for all out power (and I assume that's what you want) the stepped headers and true duals are the only way to go. Remember Johnny, you are at the point where you are trying to squeeze out every extra ounce of power! One item you forgot to mention, add the "X" pipe and make sure that you use the merge collector. I think you'll surprise everyone with the results when you have the proper A/F mixture with this combo on the dyno and the track! DO IT! Do it now!

Little bitty dragilly is sick. Big Wiggy Johnny needs to make sure the e-brake isn't stuck on. On a less gay, more serious note.....

Stop throwing money and parts at the car John. You need to leave it alone, and tune for what you have. Go get a stock computer, start from scratch with Ls1 Edit...and tune everthing with a wideband. Also check to make sure you installed all 8 coils back on when you put the motor in <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

I am dynotuning with BV Performance who will be using LS1 Edit like next week or the week after.

I'm holding off on the Dynatechs for now, but not the dual exhaust. Also got something things cooking.

im going with the dyantech headers 3 1/2 colletor to a 3 1/2 race muffler...either dynomax or flomaster....then turn downs

people say flomaster is bad, should i go with the dynomax?

last year i had exhuast manifolds to 3inch 40 series flowmasters then to turn downs...it sounded good but i dont know if the performance was where it should be...i had nothing to compare to (same set up since i built the car)

Update:

Might be able to get the dual exhuast on time for a dyno session next Wednesday. If not we'll try a two pulls thru the exhaust and then perhaps drop the Y pipe.

We've been getting conflicting advice regarding timing advance so we will baseline at 28 degrees and then try 30 degrees and go up to 32 degrees.

Gonna stay with a 13:1 AF but might try a little leaner initially, we'll see what kind of power we make.

Dynatechs will have to wait, we have no time to get them on, and we were thinking of trying Dynatech's weld-on collectors which would have necessitated getting the collectors and also coating them.

Whoa - Dynatech has weld-on collectors for the stepped longtubes? Are these new? I could not find them on their website.

I would pounce on those if I could get those - would take care of my slip-on collector leaks in a heartbeat.

Sure do... Any of our sponsors who carry them can get them. If you get them realize you need two weld-on collectors, some 'stars' and two 18mmm bungs for the o2 sensors. Your peeps will need to grind the coating off the edge of your headers.

Do yours leak that bad? Did you try hi-temp, sensor-friendly RTV?

The guy to ask is Bill, he is the guy I have talked to about this.

I'm keeping my TTS 1.75 longtubes for now.

Thanks for the info. I will give MTI a holler (they have done almost all of my engine work) and see about getting the weld-on collectors. I would be much more comfortable with that then using RTV sealant.

Remember to find out what these 'stars' are, I think they help locate the collector. I heard the collectors are pretty cheap.

Will do, but am also wondering what the heck a "star" is.
