Or is that only with the tr 6's? I was just reading another post about this, I have mine gapped at .050 after my cam install, I have exhaust and basic intake stuff, would I benefit from tightening up the gap a bit? Thanks fella's

TR55 plugs run at a hotter heat range than the TR6 plugs. That is the main difference. Reducing gap does nothing for performance, this was a topic of heated debates about 3 years ago.

No, that's TR-6s that we were talking about. TR-55s are designed to be run at wider gaps. They come from NGK gapped at about .055. NGK says that you shouldn't change the gap of a plug more than .010 in either direction.

You should be fine where you are.

Hehe, I sure do remember the heated spark plug gap debates! I believe you and I got into it a few times Tony!

I remember that a few guys were seeing a large dip on the dyno curve with the lower gaps, but it turned out that was a fuel related issue in the end wasn't it?

Personally if I were to do it again, I'd go with TR55s at .050. Back then I ran TR6s at .044 and they worked well for me though.

The dreaded 5500 rpm "dyno dips" are actually signs of valvefloat. Something us "rookies" back then didn't know about with these LS1s....

I bet my following questions have been posted a least a million times but here goes...I'm about to do a plug/wire swap, what plugs and gap for a bolt-on motor? Also, i've been checking prices of wires: stock replacements are about $10 a piece and the G.M.P.P. wire set (8 wires) is $50, wtf? Are the GMPP's any good? Are the stock ones any better? Also, any other wires you can recommend? Thank you very much for your time!

Chris
