Default valve breather Question

I want to install a Metco Valve Breather on my LS1. Do I need to take the valve cover off in order to pull out the plastic tube that the oil filler cap is screwed onto?

Any suggestions on how to take the factory fill tube out? Do you think its ok to pry it out with a screwdriver? Thanks for all your help

I tried pulling it out and that wasn't happening so then I tried prying it out and it had alot of resistance so I just thought I was going about it the wrong way. Any other suggestions besides taking off the valve cover?

The factory fill tube comes out. Don't take the valve cover off. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
