Default Swapping Fuel Pumps...Hard or not too bad???

Just curious as to how hard it would be to upgrade my fuel pump. Would I have to drop the tank? If so that would be a p.i.t.a Like I said I am just curious. If it is not too bad then I will look into to upgrading but if it is a pain then I will save it for a way down the road thing...Thanks..Michael

After looking under my car I decided it was going to be a PITA. I have a 4" mufflex that would have to be cut off. I decided to go through the top. I cut out a square above the fuel pump from inside. I fab'd another square that was 1" larger than the hole I cut out of sheetmetal then secured it with RTV and sheetmetal screws. If I remember right it took less than two hours for the whole process including changin the pump.
