Was the oil on the threads or on the tip? If it was on the threads it is probably from oil running down the outside of the head during valve cover removal. The oil puddles at the plug/head interface and deposits on the plug threads (or on the tip if rubbed in the oil) on the way out.
Nothing involved with a cam swap, including lubing the rocker arms, should result in oil inside the cylinder where it would have to be to get on the plug tips if the oil was not from the exterior.
