ETP Headed guys...pushrod length?
I've got a set of ETP 225's on my 346, and I checked the pushrod length awhile back, so they *should* be right.....But I was wanting to check and see what lengths you other thick deck head guys are running.
The ones I have are some chrome moly, from TSP, 8.150's if I remember correctly.
thanks,
-Will

With that length pushrod, I would seriously consider a larger diameter like 3/8". IF the 3/8" won't fit, then 11/32" OD would be my next choice. The stiffness is a function of length and those are getting very long. Couple with stiff springs you may have a resonance in the system that kills power.

I have 62cc combustion chamber size, but dunno the amount milled from stock (milled by ETP) and I am running 8.10", which give me about .060" preload on LS7 lifters. The valvetrain is extremely low noise - less noise than my last cam on XE lobes and I am now running LSK - LOVE the new cam, it is utilising the benefits of the ETP heads very well.

vettenuts,
I ordered custom chrome moly pushrods through TSP, they are larger
macca,
Thanks for the reply...and glad to hear you like the lobes, I'm trying them out with my latest cam.

My AFRs peak at 12.2:1 at present, so there is still a fair bit of timing that it will be able to take and I reckon I'll be even more happy with the result after I've had the tune tweaked. I reckon there is at least another 10-15 hp to be found once the timing is added.
You will love the LSK lobes and my valvetrain is now actually a tad quieter than the XE lobed cam I took out - go figure?!?
Here is a copy of the dyno sheet, done on a brand new DD twin-retarder chassis dyno:-
Cheers and good luck with yours,
Macca
