Default Throttle response between two LS1 cams

My mom has a 99 TA with the same mods that I have (02 WS6), the only thing different is that I now have a ported TB which helped throttle response a little. The thing is, her car (with the older ls1 cam) seems to have much better throttle response. Hers is snappy as hell and it makes it a bit more enjoyable to drive.

I imagine my car makes better power up top but has anyone else noticed the older F-body LS1 cams (98-00) being a bit "snappier" than the newer (01-02)?

My buddies old 99' with the LS1 intake felt better than my 02' off idle, but I would spank him in a race every time.
