plus they have a different vavle angle or something like that which give more PTV clearance..look at the terminators from TSP...

added strength is really a plus, but only if youre spraying of FI....i cannot see many members on this board overpowering the heads with their set ups...mine included...i went with some PRC 5.3's....

I wonder if the price of having my heads worked is cost efficient compared to buying heads from one of the mentioned brands.

Consider a short duration cam (220 - 224) with a tight LSA (112 or even 110) and either Edelbrock 202, Dart or AFR 205 heads for the best velocity & torque production. That should get you close to 450rwhp with a good exhaust, but you'll spend some money keeping it quiet.
They are working on a LS2 head as we speak,there LS1 based head is very good...
