We are trying to install SLP ( I know, not the favorite here) longtubes in an 02 SS. Were at the pont of putting the drivers side header in but it keeps getting hung up on the Steering U-Joints and 2 head bolts. We've tried everything short of taking out the steering u-joints. Do we need to take it out? Also any advice on the pass side would be huge.
Thanks

Loosen the trans crossmember bolt which will allow
you to move the engine/trans a little bit.
Enough to wiggle the headers into position.
just the bolt that holds the trans to the crossmember, not the whole crossmember.
Use a pry bar on the rear of the trans to move
it.They should slide in.Hope this helps.

Using the SLP header directions,
Pass side first the drivers side..
Here is the method that I used..
