yes it is, it's usually better to get the desired lift from the cam rather than lifters, LS1 cams are spec'd out with 1.7 rocker if you go with a 1.8 you will have more lift and have to make sure your springs can handle it.

i try to get the more lift thru the lobe, than the rocker because it is easier and cheaper for the customer.

I ran Crane 1.8's on my prior setup and am now running their 1.7's. The Cranes will give you more power but you need to be careful on your selection of parts, valve springs, etc.

see i got the cam in my sig, and i didnt want go thru the whole process of doing the cam again till i get more money, i got a friend that will sell me his 1.8 rockers for $100, i was thinking about putting them on, you guys think ill see any gains or will i lose some driveablity,??

what if i just use em on the intake valves, so that ill get more air into the engine? just wondering if it will work, maybe im crazy for thinking this.

.630/.631 will be your lift. i would rather see you with more lift on the intake side than the exhaust.

Why? look at the original cam specs

Problem is the XE-R ramps are too fast for 1.85 SLP rockers.

true, i personally not a fan of slp rockers myself, they are not a good mix with the xe-r ramps, but a little more intake lift in these motors never hurt anything from what i have seen.

It really depends on the rest of the VEs, you can't just say more intake lift is better in general. Also have to look at the use of the cam and its desired powerband.

As Predator already stated, the X-ER lobe ramp rates are too fast for the SLP rockers. You can physically do it, but you're not going to be able to control the valve.
