Default LS1 vs LS6 cam specs. Opinions needed>>>

Couple of questions??? I have LS1 with just external boltons(see sig). I've been reading all the posts on this site concerning cams. I'm looking for a cam (& springs) that will not change the driving characteristics of my car much. My car made 343+rwhp at Cartek(see dyno #4 in my sig), and I'm looking for a little more power (370-380 or so)
Does anyone know the specs for stock LS1 & LS6 cams, for reference?
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what cam spec I should use, keeping in mind I'd rather go a little less agressive but still make some power???
I'm looking for as much information as possible, any help would be greatly appriciated!!!

Thanks in advance,
Dan

For a mild cam, the LS6 cam or the Comp 212/218 cam are probably your best choices. IMO, the LS6 cam isn't worth it- you will probably see 10-15 HP, tops. The Comp 212/218 cam should give you 20-25 HP. Neither one of these cams will affect driveability or idle much. The LS6 cam gives all its gains at higher RPMs, the Comp cam shows gains at lower RPMs- but runs out of breath around 6000 RPMs. There is a guy on here (SSINFUL) who runs the 212/218 cam- I think his car dynoed 373 HP. He could answer any questions you have about that cam. I think the 212/218 cam has lift of .522/.529 and the LSA is 114. With the exception of some people with JPR stage 1 heads, I don't think anyone has seen impressive results with the LS6 cam. Good luck!! <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[Burnout]" />

A pretty in depth cam discussion.

Thanks a lot guys!!! I agree with you BADSS, the LS6 cam may not be enough. I spoke with the guys at Cartek, and they suggested the 218/222 cam they have with a 113 centerline. They think with my car making 343.3 already, 370+ will be no problem. Those guys took lots of time with me with my LS6 intake install and dyno pulls. I'm going to go with their suggestion. Thanks again for the responces!!!
