How much brake fluid does our cars hold??

Default How much brake fluid does our cars hold??

Ive never really thought about it but im changing out the brakes next week to the Wilwoods and im going to a good fluid.. how much do i need to bleed through all the lines and refill the master cylinder..

I don't know exactly how much fluid the system holds. However, I bleed frequently, after each roadcourse event. I put a pint through each time. To start from scratch, I'd use two pints. Flush most through the longest lines to the rear. Also bleed the ABS module by opening the lines to MC1 and MC2 on top of the unit. You might get out a small amount of air and some dirty fluid. You do this by having someone depress the pedal while you carefully open the nuts, just like bleeding calipers. Got to have rags handy to catch the fluid which can squirt and will damage paint.
