Default ??Where is that Knock Sensor???

I've asked bout 3 different people and all have been pretty consistent with their answers but I just, for some reason, cannot seem to be finding it. Does anyone have any helpful hints for me finding it?

This is what I am told: It is a black lil harness thingy that is located directly behind the intake manifold. When they say behind, does that mean I have to reach my hand way back there and grab UNDERNEATH the manifold??

I was told it is on both the passenger and driver side. I dont know which side its on. I hope its the drivers, the passenger side is alearday scaring me <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">

Incase your wondering, im just going to be placing a KO box in there soon to get rid of my False knock at the track(gonna still run high octane gas for safety insurance)

thanks for your guys help.

actually there are two knock sensors, they are directly under the intake manifold, and look like two small black circles.

Yup. You gotta remove your intake manifold and you'll see em UNDERNEATH it. Wires running right to them. There is nowhere you can "reach" to get them without the intake manifold off...and once its off you wont mistake them for any other sensors.

Here are two pictures that I took when I was doing the heads on my car. Sorry they aren't very clear but you can see what they look like...

You can see one up close at the top of this picture.

He doesn't need to get to the knock sensors themselves...just to their wireing harnesses.

Best I remember, mine were right behind the intake manifold. You can go behind the drivers side of it to get to them.

Maybe someone else can explain it more precisely that I can. Tony?

Colonel is correct. If you look in the first picture of Zangel's post, you can see where the harness comes out. It is located on the driver's side behind/on the intake manifold.

Good picture ZAngel, thanks.

The harness is typically mounted (via metal slide-on clip) to the support bar at the backside of the fuel rail on the driver's side of the motor. This is for an unmolested motor. hahah. Sometimes they are just dangling loose behind the intake manifold.
