Default Ptrick G and the Colonel

Is it true a ported maf will kill the 2000 a4 trans? Also the best yank w 3:23 y3000 sy3500 st3000 or ss3200? 99.9% daily driven.Looking for good tip in throttle responce and from a roll to kill the 35 and 75mph dead spots? Thanks, im finding nearly impossible to trade for an m6 car so maybe i can make this thing work. possible heads/cam maybe nitrous in the future.

I didnt have any notiable problems with my 00' A4 w/ Y3000. It may have been hurting the trans but the performance was great.

When I swtiched to the ST-3800 then later the PT-4400 and Yank trans I had major issues with a ported MAF ends. I swtiched to an SLP 85mm and the shifting issues went away like magic.

Out of those choices I would choose the ST3000 or as close as you can get to a Vig2800

Seen too many damned fast Vig2800 cars to dispute them.

I don't know for sure but it has been said and stands to reason that the lowering of the reported load ot the PCM from the MAF results in lower line pressure in the tranny which in turn makes for shorter friction material life. Maybe Patrick can elaborate.

What converter would be best for you depends largely on what tires you plan to use, how much dragstrip use it will see, and how loose of a converter you can tolerate.

I'll move this to the drivetrain forum where I think it will better fit....
