anybody ever get a bolt broken off in the block?
Broke a head stud off in the block. Was given the wrong torque specs I took a metal sleeve and slid into the hole so not to touch the wall of the bolt hole and tried drilling it with a left handed drill bit and then using an EZ out. My drill bit was not long enough so before trying to weld an extension on it I just took a really long right hand standard thread drill bit and started drilling. It went in and seized in the bolt and I was really worried so I tried to back it off. When I did it was stuck into the bolt so hard it pulled the broken piece of the bolt out without any damage. This was one of the most tramatical moments of LS1 history but I made it through it with no damage

good save.
I have a 98 so there are a whole bunch of bolts holding the valve cover down, so I never had a problem.
