why do some cams make a whine sound?

Default why do some cams make a whine sound?

I have heard it in alot of videos. Just wondering why they do it

have you seen them on LS engines? I have just seen them in older V8s, because they have Cam Gears that whine in general.

I know alot of Futral cams make a whining noise. Mine did and there were many on here that claimed the same. I got rid of mine after a few claimed their lifters were getting chewed up. Does the whining indicated this? Who knows.

My stock car has a bit of a whine. I thought it was old, its bone stock I heard. With the lid and the radio off I can def hear it

HAH! maybe that is that VERY VERY VERY small "jet taxiing down a runway" sound I get when at LOW rpm's in the parkinglot.

Its not the cam, its the aftermarket lid/air intake system. Notice the stock lid has fins on the inside, and is sometimes called an air silencer. Its the sound of air being sucked into the motor.

You know something, you right! I was walking in a parking garage a 98-02 T/A rolled through and def had a loud *** whine, I noticed it louder with mine, I just switched from stock to the SLP flow pack kit.
