Default damn fuel pump

my stock fuel pump went out about a week ago and i installed a 255lph walbro, its been working fine and today it just decides to not prime up, after trying about 20 times it finally decides to, if runs fine but it doesnt want to prime after you kill the car. Any Ideas?

It's likely going to be something with the pickup tube. Better drop the tank and check it.

If it was the pickup tube wouldnt it go in and out? This will run fine as long as you dont kill the engine and if you do it doesnt want to come back again untill you turn the ignition 30 times, sometimes banging on the trunk above the tank will help, or it could just be good timing...

Hitting it made it work?

Maybe a loose power wire?

First

Verify the pump is coming on w/ the key for the prime pulse. Listen to the tank while someone turns the key.

No noise, and it's a loose wire.

A loose hose between the pump and the hanger will cause a loss of prime pressure. Even it you used the old hose. It can happen.

I had a piece of rubber hose go on mine. Long cranks and loss of pressure at WOT.
