Re: Are ALL LS1 heads the same???? 98 heads have completely different valvecovers. They have 10 perimeter mounting bolts, while the 99+ version only have 4 centrally located mounting bolts. The 98 coil packs also mount directly onto the valvecovers, but the 99s mount to a bracket that mounts to the valvecovers.
The heads themselves internally (ports, valve sizes, etc..) are the same and are interchangable on any LS1 block though.
