What gains from no Air filter?
Has anyone actually seen any gains at the track with an air filter as opposed to no air filter. The few times I go to the track I see Zero gains with the air filter out compared to when it is in. I Still have the stock air filter as well.

Re: What gains from no Air filter?
I've only seen like a MPH gain from it in really cool weather. In normally warm weather it's the same. I have the following induction mods: A homemade lid and ported MAF. Stock throttle body and EGR mod. OOps, also have FRA with a fabricated aluminum inlet that acts like the Fast Toys Ram Air.

For lower HP engines the gains will be almost none without the filter (assuming a good filter is used.)
I pick up about 1-1.5 MPH without the K&N filter in my 422CI Z28.

Re: What gains from no Air filter?
I'm almost completely stock and still pick up a smidge every time I pull it out. Less than 1mph, but it's a repeatable gain. That's more than I get from changeing from a stock "ported" mass air to a SLP mass air. 0.00$ vs 150$. If you are running 13.01-13.05s and want to break into the 12s, try it. I did. Just rember that it ain't going to give you a whole lot.
