Default Anyone here spun a main bearing?

I'm just curious what your car was doing to make you think something was wrong. Like did it make a certain noise or did you get a lot of vibration in the drivetrain? Twice now when I've floored it from a 10-20mph roll and ran it up to about 70 when I let off I can hear a squealing sound coming from the engine bay. Also the shifter starts vibrating really bad. It only does it for about 10-20 seconds and then goes back to normal. What's weird is it only does it if I spin the hell out of the tires. There's also a mild ticking sound coming from the motor under normal driving. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks, I feel MUCH better now. I forgot to mention that the oil pressure was fine too. Looks like I gotta keep diggin.

Been there.

Oil pressure fluctuated wildly at idle.

Pronounced vibration at 2500 rpms and higher.

Major loss in power too.

Obvious knocking, not as deepsounding as a SBC, coming from the middle of the engine.

Major shavings in oil... Huge gray streaks...

Been there. Doesn't "sound" like a main to me. If you torch or wrap a main, you will see a marked decrease in oil pressure and sometimes get a deep knock inside the motor. Sounds like a loose belt or bad belt tensioner could be the squealing (sudden change in rpm causing belt to slip). Not too sure about the vibration though.
