Adjustable Fan Control Mod I installed the above part this weekend (universal adjustable fan control, Hayden P/N 3653, $21.99 @ Pep Boys).
It works well, turning the fans on and off as required and earlier than the factory setting. My only problem is that it threw the SES light after cycling itself off the first time. I reset the PCM (pulling the two fuses, PCM BAT and PCM IGN) and it went away for a little while, but then came back on again. The car runs great but that light is annoying.
Is there something I might have done wrong to cause this? How can I remedy it without disabling the SES light itself?

Re: Adjustable Fan Control Mod I know from experience if you cycle the fans on/off 2 times consecutively you will set a code. It doesn't hinder performance and will go away after you turn the car on off a few times or put so mane miles on it with out the fans coming on early.

Would any of the "Scantool" units @ Pep Boys be able to clear codes on our cars?

Re: Adjustable Fan Control Mod Not familiar with that unit, but, I can tell you that many times whem you short the relays to ground while the fans are commanded on by the pcm it will set a code.Don't know how this unit works, but I know that the pcm commands the relay circuits to ground to turn the fans on.(the relays are in a parallel circuit-grounding one turns the fans on low, grounding two turns the fans on high).
Cycling the fans on/off manually will not set a code IMO unless the pcm has commanded the fans on. IMO only.

I have a fan switch and have never gotten a code, either from turning them on at the same time the PCM has them on, or the PCM turning them on when they're already on, or cycling them on/off, or anything like that. I have LEDs to indicate when the fans are on so I know when the PCM turns them on.

Re: Adjustable Fan Control Mod I was going to go with the freebie fan mod, bought all the wiring, switches, etc. Then decided I wanted more so I just bought the SLP Fan switch, hooked it in and now I have control over the Low and High speeds on the fans.
