Default What to expect???

OK, I'm getting kinda anxious here.

For those who don't know what's goin on in my world, here's the story.

I'm building a crate LS1, plus a set of Stage II equivalent heads, and a Lunati .221/.221 .558/.558 Cam on a 114 deg. LSA.

I will also have a port matched aluminum Holley intake and probably a set of Mac mid-length headers.

Also, I'll probably have some sort of programming done, and this is where my question lies.

What sort of electrical problems should I expect BEFORE I have my comuter done? From what I've read, I'm gonna have all kinds of little gremlins and goblins, so I would really like know half way what to expect to go wrong.

Also, I'm kinda unsure what I want to do with my Comp. Ratio. I really don't know if I should bump it up and just run it on motor and change it later if I decide to spray or boost. Or should I lower it slightly and be ready, because I'm sure I'll end up chargin or turbo'in someday.

Thanks in advance guys,

Hoping for the best, expecting the worst!

I would personally stay NA and eventually spray if NA isnt enough power for you.
I would try to shoot for 11.0-11.2:1 compression
Will be interesting to hear how the intake works for you. I assume your are port matching the intake to the heads and going with a larger than stock T-body?
Cheers,
Chris

What are the flow numbers on your heads?
thanks,
Chris

Chris, thanks for the input! Sorry so long on the reply.

Yeah, I'm having the intake port matched to the heads, but I am kinda worried about a bigger t-body with all the problems everyone seems to be having with them.

Do you think it's worth the risk?

I'm trying to avoid as many technical & electrical malfunctions as possible, so if it is going to be more of a pain than a pick up, then I'll probably just port and polish my stock one.

Any more input on this topic, anyone???

As for the flow numbers on the heads, they flow ~295 cfm @ .550 lift, which is the peak lift on my cam.

Chris (the guy that ported them for me) said they flowed slightly better than a set of Dart 23 deg. aluminum race heads flow "out-of-the-box"

Sound good??? I thought it sounded pretty good myself.

Thanks Chris!

I would not go over 11.25:1 compression for most applications.

Regarding the throttle body, I can't reccomend you do something I haven't even tried myself, but I'd at least take the stock one and clean it up.

Do us a favor and take a pic of the Holley intake front opening, maybe we can bore a TB out to 80mm and bore the intake to match.

OK, thanks guys, I might look into a throttle body after all.

ONEBADWS6, which TB are you using?

PSJ, how does 11.0:1 sound for a daily driver?

That's what I was planning on running.

How will that much CR react to spray or boost?

Probably won't be pretty, huh?

Thanks again guys!
